PR Fonroche inaugurated First Solar Plant under National Solar Mission Batch II

PR Fonroche on January 10, 2013 installed a 5 MW solar plant in Gajner near Bikaner in Rajasthan. The project is part of the 20 MW project PR Fonroche which was won by the company through the process of independent bid in the National Solar Mission, Phase I Lot II. The following 15 MW plant would be given officially on January 15, 2013 but the electricity on the site is currently in progress.

The project is the first of the 340 MW projects to be developed under the Phase I Batch II of the mission.

PR Fonroche

It is a joint venture between the French company and the Indian company Fonroche PR Clean energy. The two companies are working as partners for setting up a 200 MW Solar Voltaic Plants in India. PR Fonroche was succeed in the project bidding rate of 9.1 rupees per kWhr. The company expects a total production of 38 million units of electricity per year, or 1.9 million units per year and makes film modules developed by an American company, First Solar.
